''A lovely relaxed place to come back to in the evening in order to escape the crowds at the coast. Great to allow the kids to explore and play in the garden without needing to watch them all the time. The 4yr old loved the sandpit.
The set up was perfect for all our children. They all loved playing in the garden and our 7yr old only came back to see us when hungry. He also enjoyed playing table tennis and boules. They all loved it and the 3yr olds had great fun with the dressing up box. However the absolute favourite for them all was the pool. ''

Papillon gite sleeps four/five in three bedrooms with an extra rollaway bed to sleep a third child or space for a cot. The master bedroom in this holiday rental has a king sized bed (160x200), there is a small room with single bed (90x190) plus room for a travel cot and a second childrens room with childrens single bed (80x180) with fitted barrier plus a rollaway bed (also 80x180). The bathroom has a full bath with shower attachment over the bath, sink and loo. A baby bath can be provided and there is a non slip mat too.

The family friendly property has two safely enclosed heated swimming pools, one specifically for toddlers. There's a large enclosed play garden filled with toys and we hold children and toddler activities each week such as pottery and fabric painting!

The open-plan ground floor features traditional exposed stone walls and ancient oak beams. Thanks to its classic stone architecture, the gîte offers a cool, cellar-like retreat from the summer sun (supported by fans in every bedroom).
- Kitchen: Exceptionally spacious with generous counter space and storage.
- Appliances: 4-ring gas hob, worktop electric oven/grill, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and a hand blender for purees.
- Cookware & Tableware: Fully stocked with essential pots, pans, crockery, and cutlery, plus dedicated children’s plastic tableware.
Family & Child-Friendly Features
All gîtes at La Grange du Moulin come equipped with complete baby and toddler equipment:
- Included Gear: Cot, high chair, booster seat, changing mat, potty, toilet trainer seat, toddler step, stair safety barriers (top and bottom), toys, and books.
- Parent Note: The straight, open-tread wooden staircase is slightly steeper than standard home stairs. There is also a small stone step down at the entrance doorway.
Outdoor Spaces & Amenities
- Front Patio: Features a barbecue, dining furniture for 4–5 guests, a large parasol, and direct views across the garden.
- Rear Patio: Includes a cozy drinks table with two chairs.
- Laundry: Free access to a shared laundry room with multiple washing machines and a dryer. A private iron, ironing board, and drying rack are provided in the gîte, alongside a shared rotary dryer in the garden.

The pool area is completely enclosed, has a child safety latch on the gate and also has an alarm to comply with French safety regulations. Once the children are in bed you can enjoy sharing a bottle of wine and chatting with other parents.

Centrally located in the Charente Maritime department of SW France, we are an easy drive to hundreds of km of sandy beaches.
The Charente Maritime is also easy to get to with airports in la Rochelle, Bordeaux, Nantes, Poitiers and Limoges all accessible. The nearest port to the Charente Maritime is the French port of St Malo.
