Discover wine with Chris

Wendy Blakeman • 5 January 2025

with many years working in the wine industry, he's our very own wine expert

Each week throughout the season, Chris offers a discover wine event. Whilst the children play in the garden with their new friends, the adults can chill out, enjoy a glass or two of wine and chat with Chris about wine. There will be a set theme for each event; our most popular one is Discover sparkling wine where you learn everything there is to know about Champagne and sparkling wines in general. You are free to ask as many questions as you like about anything wine related so each event is different

We hold the event at 18hr. The little ones have usually been fed by that time and are happy to play in the garden with their new friends. It also means we are finished by 19hr30 to 20hr so you can get the children to bed and light up the bbq for your own dinner. It's very relaxed and informal. Parents often bring the highchair with baby along and the toddlers and older ones can come and go as they please. If you need to get up and tend to them, that's fine too.

We charge 12€50 per adult for which you get at least 2 glasses (125ml) of the theme wine per person and at least 1hr ( usually 1hr30 - 2hrs) of Chris's wine knowledge. We do not have bottles of these wines for sale, it is not a sales pitch for any particular wines.

It's a very popular event which we offer each week, sometimes twice a week depending on demand. However as with all our events and activities, there is no pressure to join in at all. For those that do not drink alcohol we offer soft drinks and a reduced price, so you still get to enjoy the social event.

We look forward to seeing you at our next Discovery event
