Fabric painting with kids

one of the many activities at La Grange du Moulin child & toddler friendly gites

Our idea of a great family friendly holiday means spending quality time with our boys and each other, enjoying walks, trips out and meals together. At our family holiday cottages here in the Charente Maritime we can offer all this and some little extras too which can make your holiday even more fun.

Each week on site at La Grange du Moulin we offer fabric painting for all the family. Its a lovely way to spend some quality time with your little ones creating a unique and personal souvenir of your holiday together and maybe create a few gifts for your loved ones at home too - perhaps a sunhat for your new nephew or a tea towel for Grandma all decorated to your own design and personalised with hand prints and colourful stencils.

You can choose from a selection of smaller items or go all out and choose a t-shirt, we have sizes from 1yr to 13yrs plus a few adult sizes too. The younger ones love getting messy and having their hands painted to create a unique signature to their design.

The older children enjoy planning and often use free hand work with brushes and have come up with some superb designs. We recommend the younger ones stick to the stencils so you end up with a great t-shirt they can wear regularly. We have all sorts of designs, tractors, cars, dinosaurs, fairies, insects, animals, there's something for everyone. We provide all the paint, brushes, sponges, stencils and also the painting shirts.

All our guests can participate in this fun family activity. Guests at Les Vallaies can also all come over and take part. If there enough children wanting to participate at Les Vallaies we will take the activity over there too. But whether there is one child or 20 wanting to join in, the activity is held every week at La Grange du Moulin.

Once your artwork is finished, we take it to dry overnight and then we press it to set the colours and deliver it back to you the next morning ready to wear ! On the back of the t-shirt or bag or tea towel we will write our logo and the year. We have children who design a new one each year and often turn up on the first day of their holiday with last years t-shirt still looking fab. A great showcase for the activity.
